Pro Collagen Vegan supports the maintenance and production of the body’s own collagen, which has a study-proven anti-aging effect and promotes the health of collagen-dependent structures in the body. Why sweet & red? Good to know! Isolated amino acids—the building blocks of collagen, which we inevitably have to use in a vegan collagen formula—always taste extremely bitter and are inedible. To avoid this, we’ve chosen a natural raspberry flavor, sweetness from stevia, and coloring from beets to offer you a delicious, vegan collagen powder.

Health Claims:

Vegan Collagen Alternative: Study Confirms Its Effectiveness

One-third of collagen consists of glycine, which the body can produce on its own and also obtain from food. However, the amount obtained from food is insufficient to even meet basic needs and produce enough collagen. Taking additional collagen through dietary supplements can therefore be particularly beneficial for maintaining skin firmness and elasticity, as well as for reducing and preventing wrinkles.

Pro Collagen Vegan contains VeCollal®, a vegan Type 1 collagen alternative—the first vegan collagen to be studied in human trials. The amino acids it contains are similar to those found in the human body’s Type 1 collagen. In one study*, VeCollal® reduced wrinkles by 33% within eight weeks and was just as effective as fish collagen in other parameters, while being significantly more effective than a placebo. That’s why we’ve used exactly the same amount of VeCollal® in our Pro Collagen Vegan as was used in that study.

What is collagen, and what is it good for?

Collagen is a protein found in the body as an important component of skin, bones, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage. It forms a kind of scaffold that holds tissues together and provides stability. Collagen accounts for about one-third of the total protein in the human body and is composed of various amino acids, including glycine and proline. It is crucial for structure and elasticity—especially of the skin, where it is the primary protein. Collagen supports skin firmness, elasticity, and moisture retention, which makes it particularly interesting in the context of skin aging. Studies show that taking collagen powder supplements can, among other things, reduce wrinkles and improve skin firmness.

In bones and joints, collagen strengthens the tissue and promotes mobility, while also helping to prevent injuries. Collagen also aids in recovery, such as after exercise, and can be supplemented with specialized products, such as the collagen powder mentioned above, to counteract the natural breakdown of collagen.

Collagen Powder for Youthful Skin

Between the ages of 30 and 70, we lose over 50% of our skin’s collagen, which leads to natural skin aging. However, this process is also influenced by other internal and external (environmental) factors: Internal factors include, for example, the natural aging process mentioned above, hormonal changes, psychological stress, and low-grade inflammation in the body. External factors include UV rays, lack of sleep, environmental pollution, smoking, and an unhealthy diet. These internal and external factors usually lead to oxidative stress, thereby promoting the formation of free radicals and contributing to the breakdown of collagen in the skin and the inhibition of the body’s own collagen synthesis.
